Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: the beginnings
of the St. Maximilian Education Centre

In January 2008 St. Maximilian Education Centre in Dar es Salaam started its activity. The motto of the Centre is "Education that adds value!" The main purpose of the whole project is to lift up the living standards of the people (especially children who have great intellectual possibility) as well as the whole country through the achievement of good education. However, because of lack of material help, many parents can not send their children to other paid schools where they may receive good education.

School

The Franciscan Order is the owner of the school, but to collaborate in running it there were invited The Missionary Sisters of the Holy Family. The sisters who are already teaching the children will be involved in administration. At present there are three sisters working in school: one from Zambia, one from Kenya and one from Poland.

School

St. Maximilian Education Centre in Dar es Salaam provides a complete school education and raising in a Christian spirit. Its beneficiaries are - and we'll hope there will be in the future - many children, attending first to the kindergarten, then to the primary school (compulsory in Tanzania), and finally to the high school. Having completed the secondary education level many persons will have a possibility to study in the future or to gain a necessary job.
